Picolibrary

About the press

Picolibrary is a very small press. I have no idea if I will ever publish any more books, but I wanted to publish this one. Normally, I would run the press under my own name, so that everyone knows what they're going to get: something weird. But publishers tend to have business names, and anyway I didn't want another human's name on a book someone else wrote.

I know sometimes small projects get big. Bennett Cerf said, "we just said we were going to publish a few books on the side at random", but ended up with Random House. And of course, Linux was supposed to be "not big and professional like GNU". (Having worked at the FSF, which sponsors GNU, I can tell you that it was in no way big and professional -- it was "welcome to FSF. Here's a pile of parts, build yourself a computer.")

That said, my press is probably the wrong imprint for your book. But maybe you have weird ideas, and want to work with me; if so, contact me and tell me why.
